Public Transport Fares and Information in Prague
The tariffs for the Prague city area are divided into Zones P and 0 (in total, there are 4 tariff zones for the Prague area). Zone P has a doubled tariff value and Zone 0 is divided into Zones 0 and B – the border stops zone.
Zone P includes the metro, trams, Prague public transport buses, the Petřín funicular, ferries and selected railway line sections.
Zone 0 includes buses from the periphery areas (lines No‘s 300 – 399 and 601 – 620) running through the Prague area, and selected railway line sections.
Passengers over 70 can travel for free (you just need to show a regular ID in case of an inspection).
Passengers from 60 to 65 can get a discount card (with a passport size photo, 20 CZK and an ID at the Airport in Terminal 1; also Můstek, Florenc and Hlavní nádraží metro stations) allowing you to buy half price single tickets.
Passengers from 60 to 70 can get a discount card (with a passport size photo, 20 CZK and an ID at the Airport in Terminal 1; also Můstek, Florenc and Hlavní nádraží metro stations) allowing you to buy passes (e.g. a monthly pass for 250 CZK).

Metro
Daytime operation: 5 AM – 12:30 AM
Peak time interval: 2-4 minutes
Off-peak interval: 4-10 minutes
Trams
Daytime operation: 5 AM – 12:30 AM
Peak time interval: 4-8 minutes
Off-peak interval: 5-10 minutes
Night operation: 12:30 AM – 4:30 AM
Intervals at night: 20-60 minutes
Funicular to Petřín
Daytime operation from 9 AM – 11:30 PM
Summer interval: 10 minutes
Winter interval: 15 minutes
Trains
Daytime operation from 4:30 AM to 12:15 AM
Interval: 15-60 minutes
Only local (Os) and limited-stop trains (Sp) and designated fast trains (R) can be used with a PID ticket.
Ticket Validation
In trams and buses, the ticket validators are near the doors.
In metro stations and in the funicular, the ticket validators are on stands by the entrance to the transport are.
In PID train operation, the ticket validators are located by the entrance to the platform or in the platform.
Each ticket is valid for as many trips as you want, until the time expires.
Tickets must be validated before starting your trip!
Ticket Inspection
Ticket inspectors are authorized to check your validated ticket at any time. They must show their inspection badge in order to prove authorization. Traveling without a ticket can result in a fine of 1,500 CZK. If paid on the spot or within 15 days, the fine is reduced to 800 CZK.
